1. 00:00 SOUNDBITE (English): Daniela Ryf, Four-time Ironman World Champion

(On race)

"Yeah, what a day, that was a day. I still can't believe what happened. I actually said before the race I want make races people remember. When I was in the swim, kind of hurting, I was like, oh my God, yeah, people will remember that. But that's not how I wanted it. I'm so happy I didn't give up. I knew there's going to be little kids watching that race and as a champion I think you should try, whenever possible, not to give up and (inaudible) inspired me what he did last year. So I just thought, okay, I have to keep going and pushing. And well, yeah, lucky I did because I ended up having a fantastic race and I think that's what ironman racing is all about. Even when you have a bad first hour everything can change. And yeah, lucky for me the race was long today because I could really actually go on fire from pretty much after one hour. I had a lot of fun out there. It was amazing. I'm still a bit speechless to be honest what just happened today."

2. 01:15 SOUNDBITE (English): Daniela Ryf, Four-time Ironman World Champion

(On women's times pulling to within 30 minutes of men's winners)

"I actually changed that. I said to Lucy (Charles) in the finish, if we keep pushing each other like that we're going to be 20 minutes. So, I think, the competition really pushes you and I had Lucy in front there like far away and I just knew I have to really put on, in the beginning I didn't know at all what's going to happen, I just kind of jumped on the bike and started riding. But eventually I was like, It's actually everything still possible. I mean 10 minutes, who knows, you know? And then actually she was still far away and I just kind of started (inaudible). I probably wouldn't have pushed that hard, so I always have to thank her to get such a fast time, because she definitely pushed me. And I think that's, yeah It's great to see. I think the women's sport is getting stronger an stronger and it's great to see new people coming, two rookies next to us here. And it's great to see, how we getting closer to these men's', yeah."

3. 02:26 SOUNDBITE (English): Patrick Lange, Two-time Ironman World Champion

(On proposing to his girlfriend)

"When I was starting to run I was thinking about it in the training, the weeks leading into that race. It kind of motivated me and when I started to run I was saying to myself, okay, when I get the chance to win this race then I will ask her and yeah, everything's good."

4. 02:57 SOUNDBITE (English): Patrick Lange, Two-time Ironman World Champion

(On race)

"After 8K I found my running legs so the mental part of it just started to feel really good after 8 K. Then I just went for it and probably the hardest part of the running course was definitely the way out of, all the guys talked about, they said it was brutal hot. It was just amazing hot and also the new course, I think it's a little bit slower than the old one, but no complaining, but it was harder, I guess. So, yeah, there we are, finishing, it's a great honor. And Madame Pele was with us today. She gave us probably the best conditions. Probably she also know that this is the 40th anniversary of the best race in the world. And yeah, here we are now, two times, under eight hours, that's pretty epic. And really grateful to go with another win here."
