Europa, 8. Dezember 2016 – Flüchtlinge, ihre Flucht, ihr Leben in den Camps. Das ist alles, worüber die Welt spricht. Dass dies Menschen sind, wie du und ich, geht vergessen. Mit www.projectlifejacket.com rücken über zwanzig NGOs aus Europa diese Menschen in den Fokus und bilden ihre Lebensgeschichte vor der Flucht mit Zeichnungen auf Schwimmwesten ab. Jene Schwimmwesten, die zum Symbol der namenlosen Flüchtlinge geworden sind. Das Projekt soll das Flüchtlingsdrama wieder auf die Agenda von Politikern, Medien und allen EU-Bürgern katapultieren und der Stigmatisierung durch das Label „Flüchtlinge“ entgegenwirken.
