STORYLINE:

Canada is preparing for the day that sales of marijuana for recreational use become legal.

About 100 dispensaries across the country are expected to be open on the first day of sales on October 17th.

Some marijuana dispensaries that are technically illegal are closing down so that they can apply for licences and re-open legally.

Unlike in the US where marijuana is illegal at the federal level, the Canadian cannabis industry will have access to banking and mail delivery.

Customers will be able to order marijuana online and have it delivered to their door.
