3. 01:01 SOUNDBITE (ENGLISH) Jean-Claude Blanc, Deputy general director of Paris Saint-Germain "The challenge we had was to renew, completely, Parc des Princes, while still playing in the stadium. So we never closed one seat, we never closed one tribune, while we have been renovating completely the Parc des Princes. The idea was to explain, and to show very quickly that the ambition of the club was big, that we were demonstrating to the players that they were joining a club with big ambitions. Therefore it was key to us that from the dressing room to the quality of the pitch, quality of the seats was up to date with every new stadium being built in Europe."

"We invested a lot of money, under the supervision of our chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. It was 75 million euros. We started by negotiating a 30-year lease with the City of Paris, to allow us to programme such a big investment. It must have been one of the biggest private investments into an existing stadium, in France. The reason we did it was image, to show that we were changing, transforming the club, from a medium-sized club to a top European football club, one of the top 10 worldwide sport franchises."
