Switzerland are hoping to get through the group stages of Euro 2016 for the first time in France this summer, and exact revenge on the hosts who beat them 5-2 in the World Cup in Brazil.

SCRIPTING INFORMATION:

Switzerland will play in the European Championships for the fourth time this summer after qualifying as runners-up to England in Group G.

Vladimir Petkovic took charge of the Swiss following Ottmar Hitzfeld's retirement after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil where they went out in the round of 16 to Argentina in extra time.

They went down 5-2 to France in the group stages and they have been drawn with Les Bleus again this summer.

While the Swiss have been seen as lacking invention over the years, in players like Granit Xhaka, Xherdan Shaqiri and Breel Embolo they could alter that perception.

Xhaka, who has been strongly linked with a move to English Premier League side Arsenal, could play against his brother Taulant in Switzerland's opener against Albania who are in their first major tournament.

This will be an emotional occasion with many of the Swiss squad hailing from Albanian backgrounds.

Switzerland begin their campaign in Group A against Albania in Lens on 11th June before playing Romania in the Parc des Princes in Paris on 15th June. Their final group game is against hosts France in Lille on 19th June.
